A constructive attitude is actually very helpful. That's what makes the world go round. Like it or not - most ppl (no matter of which "color") understand that. You are just an interesting sample of the paranoid faction (powered by mylaowai.com).

Most people elsewhere simply aren’t as obsessed with the idea as you are.

Talk about naive.

"White" and "brown" people could cause each other serious problems. But why should they? You see, MyFenwai, this is actually MyLaowai's great merit: he gives you the opportunity to show an interested public a side of Chinese culture that can't be found in China Daily - a wide-spread over-consciousness about "race". Most people elsewhere simply aren't as obsessed with the idea as you are.

self-aggrandizement doesn’t pay.

It does if brown people really believe all your bullshit. Right now any one of the major non-white racial groups could cause serious problems for whites.

Westerners have an advantage and marketing and self-aggrandizement.
In marketing - maybe.
In self-aggrandizement - well, look at yourself, myfenwai. And contrary to marketing, self-aggrandizement doesn't pay.

Asians may get higher marks in academic training, but it doesn’t necessarily lead to stronger leadership or higher creativity. Westerners still have an advantage on it.

Westerners have an advantage and marketing and self-aggrandizement. Japan, Korea and even China produce more patents per capita than Europeans or Americans.

Americans and Europeans also have an advantage in lebensraum and mineral/energy resources.

It more or less ends there.

I think that it's useless for Westerners to compete the seniority of civilization with the Chinese. China has one of the oldest civilization in the world, where Westerners can't have any competence.

Westerners have a clear advantage over the other countries including China on the birth of modernization, in which all countries but a few were subjected to Western rule.

China's problem is that they have not yet initiated anything in the modern age. They are importing everything. It even includes electronic gadgets and soap opera from Japan and Korea, which in China were (even now are?) thought to be savages situating in a culturally far periphery.

Asians may get higher marks in academic training, but it doesn't necessarily lead to stronger leadership or higher creativity. Westerners still have an advantage on it.

Education tops any urgent problems in every countries including my own, Japan. I spent some time at a US university. At the time, there were no American PhD students in my department. Only Chinese, Koreans, Japanese, and Indians were there. I saw only a few American students in a master's course, some of them Asian Americans. In one class, there were completely no Americans: a professor was from India and students were all foreigners including me. I wondered "Where am I studying?" I don't know about other Western countries, but at least US should put more emphasis on education in middle and lower class.

By the way, I don't think that Japanese intellectuals, women, teachers and businessmen among others are fairly pro-China as MyFenwai says. It seems to me that the Japanese are culturally more familiar with China than Westerners are, but it doesn't mean the Japanese are pro-China.
