Now you CAN vote in China!

Posted by MyLaowai on Friday, January 1, 2010

2010 is upon us, and promises to be the most glorious and harmonious year ever! Yes folks, the MyLaowai crew are already nose to the grindstone, creating genuine hand-crafted posts out of genuine, non-imitation meaty goodness for the entire family.

With that in mind, we’re sending up a balloon, looking for a show of hands, taking note of the numbers, conducting a census, canvassing for your opinion, testing the waters, and begging for a ballot. Put another way, we have a question to ask of you:

Which Award do you prefer to see more of in 2010? We have the time honoured, traditional, and very famous in the world Wet Pussy Award, the very fashion and diligent Soggy Box, and the surprising third option, which is very good for your healthy and promises to invigorate your Wang and balance your Chi. It will probably do something for your Vitalkidneyfunction, too.

So don’t delay, vote today! It’s probably illegal but we’re crazy that way. Go to the polls, cast your ballot, exercise your ticking hand, and make your voice heard. Good luck, and may you never be imprisoned, tortured, or shot for your efforts.

I know it’s slightly off topic, but does anybody (living in China of course) get that totally annoying little advertisement window pop-up in the bottom right of the explorer window which is totally incompatible with firefox and shakes the whole window giving the viewer a headache, if so does anybody know how to stop the damn thing?

Mylaowai’s blog shakes regularly in the Explorer, because it takes computing capacity to load ten-megaton commeting threads plus ratings. Be patient, and the picture will come to a standstill after a while.

Also, now that mylaowai.com is accessible from behind the great firewall of China, does this mean that mylaowai.com applied to be whitelisted, and if so how much did the bribe cost?

Ah, but what to do with my new-found freedom? Abuse it?

The thing is, I always know when this blog is accessible inside China, because of the surge in death threats from people with small penises. It’s its own form of entertainment.

And yes, I also get annoying pop ups (banner ads actually) courtesy of the ISP. Can’t be blocked because it’s fed as part of the page.

Dear Mylaowai, I don’t think you need to abuse it, there will be many fenwei and others scouring the net for targets to earn their 10cents worth in an attempt to spread national pride and make themselves feel good for not having a gf that will proved the abuse and entertainment for you, just sit back, crack open a tin and wait.

It appears that the chickens have been counted before they hatched, it seems that mylaowai.com is blocked here in Shandong again, would this have anything to do with Google threatening to pull out of this fantastic country with a 5000 year history which has unlimited freedom of expression and an openness that is unmatched anywhere in the world?
